Volunteering at DSA 2023-2024

This year DSA is aligning more to the district protocol with having volunteers on campus. On Monday, September 11th at 10:00am and 6:00pm we will have a Volunteer Orientation.  In order to volunteer on campus this year, you will need to attend one of the orientations prior to being scheduled to volunteer.  Please R.S.V.P. to carmen.moro@polk-fl.net

 

We have adjusted a couple of our procedures related to volunteering because of the increase in our student population as well as the consistency of our expectations for staff, students and the DSA community.

• High School volunteers may volunteer after 4pm daily.  Adult volunteers may volunteer any time before 3pm. 
• All volunteers must schedule a time, place and the task with a teacher/staff member ahead of time (at least 24 hours).  The teacher/staff member will communicate this to our volunteer coordinator. 
• All volunteers must attend a Volunteer Orientation before they are scheduled for a time to volunteer.
• Volunteers will need to sign in and out to RAPTOR each day.
• Volunteers on campus will need to sign out each day before 3pm.  Please plan to wrap up tasks around 2:45 daily.

 

In order to volunteer at DSA for the 23-24 school year you will need to:

• Attend one of the above orientations
• Schedule a time and place to volunteer with a teacher/staff member
• Communicate this to our Volunteer Coordinator, Carmen Moro who will verify and confirm the time, place and task where you will be volunteering
